Deep inside of us all, we have that persistent inner voice telling us we are destined for greatness, but many of us have a tendency to quiet that voice for a variety of reasons. Maybe we’re afraid of failing because we don’t believe success is in us, or maybe we just allow other less meaningful stuff take priority because we are too lazy or too exhausted to take action. Life is precious–every second of it. Sometimes all we need is a little encouragement or someone who will take the time to let us know that we are “seen.”
Oprah Winfrey once said in an interview that “A mentor is someone who allows you to see the hope inside yourself. A mentor is someone who allows you to know that no matter how dark the night, in the morning joy will come. A mentor is someone who allows you to see the higher part of yourself when sometimes it becomes hidden to your own view.”

This gathering place is being created not only for the woman who feels at a loss for a female role model in her life, but also for the woman who feels she may have something to offer. This is a network dedicated to women helping women through a variety of mediums such as; written word, song, art, prayer, leadership, services, mentorship and personal testimony.
I am also hoping to enlist free and low-cost products and services from businesses and individuals, to provide makeovers for the woman in need in an attempt to boost self-esteem. This could include hair/nail salons, clothing/shoes stores, make-up artists/suppliers, fitness instructors, image/emotional counseling, art therapy, or anything else that could be helpful in the realization of a woman’s human potential.
If you are reading this, and there has been something that has struck a chord with you, then please give this idea a chance and join me in trying to make our corner of the world a better place. I am hoping to find contributors willing to help this evolve into a well-rounded platform.
All seriousness aside, I also plan to have a lot of fun with this! It’s potential is limitless and it can take us places we wouldn’t normally have access to. It is a way for us to stop and think creatively about how to make a better life for those in need (including ourselves), while supporting each other and having fun in the process.
I came to the conclusion a few years back during an extensive five-day leadership retreat, that one of my ultimate goals in life is to create some sort of women’s mentoring foundation. This could very well be the beginning stages of it. I don’t yet know all of the particulars, but I feel I need to begin now and keep moving forward with it to see how it all unfolds–regardless of the position I am in at the present time (I’ll give my testimony in another section).
For those of you who are feeling alone and unseen, I want you to know that I SEE YOU! And you are not alone.
Sincerely, Dana McClellan
